123 Claisebrook

123 Claisebrook, located in Perth, is a beautiful and historic building that has undergone a complete redevelopment in 2022. Originally built in 1890, the building was once the base of Archibald Russel Somerville, the President of the Authorised Newsagents Association of WA. After his tenure, the building was repurposed as an arts hub in the 90s and later sold for redevelopment.

The new building is a built-to-rent development with 12 apartments and one studio, spread over three stories, and is designed with a modern take on the original building design. It is an excellent example of how sustainable features can be incorporated into a modern building design.

Bright Connect collaborated with the developer to establish a community energy network that provides tenants with discounted electricity and installed solar panels that have significantly reduced the building’s carbon footprint and provide clean energy to the tenants.
